DESCRIPTION
Med Biosciences PBS-Viral Sampling and Transport Kits (PBS-VΤM, Cat. No. PBV01-NP01-2ML, and Cat. No. K-PBV01-NP01-3ML), contain 2 mL and 3 mL, respectively, of PBS Viral Transport Medium with Gentamicin Sulfate and Amphotericin B, individually packaged and sterile Nasopharyngeal iSwab™ (Cat. No. NPN-001), and Biohazard Ziplock Bags 6″ x 9″ (Cat. No. ZIP-001). We also provide the same sampling kits containing 2 mL and 3 mL of Phosphate Buffered Saline without Gentamicin Sulfate and Amphotericin B (Cat. No. PBV02-NP01-2ML and K-PBV02-NP01-3ML, respectively).
The kit is used to collect nasal, and nasopharyngeal swab sample from patients suspected with COVID19 viral infection or other types of RNA or DNA viruses. The collected swab sample is transported in the PBS-VΤM medium to diagnostic laboratories for molecular analysis. The solution in tubes contains Gentamicin Sulphate and Amphotericin B to inhibit potential bacterial and fungal contamination.
PBS – VΤM Solution (2 mL or 3 mL)
PBS-VΤM is provided in a polypropylene cryogenic leak-proof tube allowing the storage of samples under different temperatures (ambient to -80 ᴼC).
PBS-VΤM is produced under highest manufacturing standards. It is formulated from highly pure molecular-grade chemicals in autoclaved 18.2 mega Ω-cm DNase-RNase-free deionized water.
The solution is sterilized by filtration using 0.22 µM filter cartridge.
Each batch of PBS-VΤM product is extensively evaluated for efficacy, stability, sterility, and confirmed for being DNase and RNase free.
The solution for products (Cat. No. K-PBV01-NP01-2ML, and K-PBV01-NP01-3ML) is composed of 137 mM Sodium Chloride (NaCl), 2.7 mM Potassium Chloride (KCl), 10 mM Dibasic Sodium Phosphate (Na2HPO4), 1.8 mM Monobasic Potassium Phosphate (KH2PO4), 50 mg/mL Gentamicin Sulfate, and 250 µg/mL Amphotericin B (pH 7.4 ± 0.1). The product kits (Cat. No. K-PBV02-NP01-2ML, and K-PBV02-NP01-3ML) have the same composition without Gentamicin Sulfate, and Amphotericin B.
Nasal/Nasopharyngeal Swab:
NPN-001 iSwabs™ are High-quality nasal and nasopharyngeal swabs that are flocked using soft medical-grade Nylon Microfibers, which do not to interfere with subsequent molecular analysis of the collected samples.
We use special flocking technology that grants optimum sample collection and subsequent analysis.
The special soft brush-like Nylon Microfibers on the swab tips designed to maximize adsorption capacity to viral particles upon sample collection, and high releasing capacity of the harvested sample particles to liquid media, with the least entrapment of particles within the swab tip.
Swabs have a built-in breakpoint at 80 mm from the tip side.
In addition to human sampling, our Nasopharyngeal Swabs can be also used for collecting nasal samples from animals.
Swabs are individually wrapped in plastic PE/paper easy-peel pouches.
Certified sterilization by radiation for the packaged swabs.

PACKAGING:
100 PBS – VΤM Nasal Sampling and Transport kits are packaged in a carton box containing: 100 PBS-VΤM tubes (2 mL or 3 mL), 100 nasopharyngeal iSwab (each 50 individually wrapped swabs are packaged in plastic resealable bags), and 100 single-layer biohazard bags (100 biohazard bags in a resealable bag).
4, 6, 8, and 12 boxes (100 kits each) are packaged in one large carton (400 to1200 kits).
