DESCRIPTION
Med Biosciences Saline Nasal Viral Sampling and Transport Kit contains 2 mL or 3 mL of Normal Saline Viral Transport Medium (Cat. No. Cat. No. NSV01-2ML, or Cat. No. Cat. No. NSV01-3ML, respectively), individually packaged and sterile Nasopharyngeal iSwab™ (Cat. No. NPN-001), and Biohazard Ziplock Bags 6″ x 9″ (Cat. No. ZIP-001).
The kit is used to collect nasal, and nasopharyngeal swab sample from patients suspected with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID19) viral infection and other types of RNA or DNA viruses. The collected swab specimen is transported in the saline solution to diagnostic laboratories for molecular analysis. Normal saline transport medium serves as a culture medium for non-propagating transport of specimens.
In addition to human sampling, our Saline Nasal Sampling Kit can be also used for collecting and transporting nasal samples from animals.
Saline Solution Tubes (2 mL or 3 mL):
Sterile, DNAse/RNase & protease free Normal Saline, containing 0.85% (w/v) Sodium Chloride (NaCl) aqueous solution to meet your laboratory needs.
Our solution is formulated from ultrapure Sodium Chloride (ACS, ≥99.5%, CAS # 7647-14-5, Formula Weight= 58.44) in Autoclaved 18.2 mega Ω-cm (DNase/RNase-free) Water.
Our saline solution is suitable for numerous molecular biology tests including collection, preservation, and transport of SARS-CoV-2 clinical specimens. Normal saline transport medium serves as a culture medium for non-propagating transport of specimens.
Our Saline Solution is provided in a polypropylene (cryogenic, leak-proof, sterile, and DNase/RNase-free) tubes allowing the storage of samples under different temperatures (ambient to -80 á´¼C).
Prepared according to the American Center for Disease Control and Prevention CDC’s standard formulation for saline solution.
Sterile solution (autoclaved and filtered through 0.22 µm membrane).
Confirmed tests for the absence of DNase, RNase, and Protease activity.
Nasopharyngeal Swab:
NPN-001 iSwabs™ are High-quality nasal and nasopharyngeal swabs that are flocked using soft brush-like medical-grade Nylon Microfibers, which do not to interfere with subsequent molecular analysis of the collected samples.
We use special flocking technology that grants optimum sample collection and subsequent analysis.
The special Nylon Microfibers on swab tips designed to maximize adsorption capacity to viral particles upon sample collection, and high releasing capacity of the harvested sample particles to liquid media, with the least entrapment of particles in the swab tip.
Swabs have a built-in breakpoint at 80 mm from the tip side.
In addition to human sampling, our Nasopharyngeal Swabs can be also used for collecting nasal samples from animals.
Swabs are individually wrapped in plastic PE/paper easy peel pouches.
Certified sterilization by radiation for the packaged swabs.

PACKAGING:
100 Saline Nasal Sampling tubes (2 mL, or 3 mL each) are racked in one box, with 100 swabs and 100 biohazard bags.
4, 6, 8, and 12 boxes (100 kits each) are packaged in one large carton (400 to1200 tubes).

Each batch of our Saline kits is vigorously evaluated for efficacy and sterility. The transport medium and swabs are sterile, and RNase and DNase free.
The product is stable and shipped locally at room temperature.
