20X TBST (F1) – Tris-Buffered Saline with Tween-20 (Sterile Filtered, DNase/RNase and Protease Free, PH 7.4 and pH 7.6)

SPECIFICATION

The 20X concentrated Tris Buffered Saline with Tween-20 (TBST) is a commonly used buffer in molecular biology research.

We offer two formulations for 20X TBST solution: Formula 1 (F1) is composed of Tris-HCl, Sodium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, and Tween 20; Formula 2 (F2) contains Tris-HCl, Sodium Chloride, and Tween 20.

TBST is commonly used as a wash solution for Western blot membranes and microtiter plate wells in ELISA assays.

TBST is an optimal formulation of buffering system, salts and detergents designed to effectively remove excess material from membranes and microtiter plate wells without affecting the antigen/antibody complex.

Using TBST in immunological assays such as Western blotting and ELISA will effectively reduce nonspecific background and increase the specific signal of antigen/antibody reaction.

The 20X TBST (Formula 1, F1) solution is composed of 500 mM Tris-HCl, 54 mM Potassium Chloride (KCl), 2.74 M Sodium Chloride (NaCl), and 1.0% Tween 20 (pH7.4 ± 0.1, Cat. No. BTBTS01-20X). To prepare a 1X solution, mix one volume of the 20X TBST solution with 19 volumes of ultrapure water. The final concentrations in 1X solution: 25 mM Tris-HCl, 2.7 mM Potassium Chloride (KCl), 137 mM Sodium Chloride (NaCl), and 0.05% Tween 20 (pH7.4 ± 0.1, Cat. No. BTBST01-20X). The buffer is also available at pH 7.6 (Cat. No. BTBST02-20X).

Our buffer is formulated from Highly Pure Molecular-Grade Chemicals in Autoclaved 18.2 mega Ω-cm Water.

The buffer is sterile filtered through 0.22 µm membrane, and autoclaved.

The buffer is evaluated and certified for the absence of DNase, RNase, and protease.
