DESCRIPTION
50X FGRB (Formaldehyde-RNA Gel Running Buffer) is used as a running buffer to separate RNA samples on agarose and formaldehyde-agarose (denaturing) gels.
The buffer is also used for Northern Blots (hybridization of total RNA or mRNA to a membrane).
The concentrated FGRB solution is made of MOPS (3-(N-morpholino) propanesulfonic acid). The 50X Buffer is composed of 1 M MOPS, 0.5 M Sodium Acetate, and 50 mM EDTA (pH 7.0 ± 0.1).
To use, dilute 1 volume of the buffer with 49 volumes of high-quality RNase-free deionized water, or DEPC treated water (See our Ultra-pure water section). The concentrations in 1X buffer solutions are: 20 mM MOPS, 10 mM Sodium Acetate, and 1 mM EDTA (pH 7.0 ± 0.1).
Our buffer is formulated from Highly Pure Molecular-Grade Chemicals in Autoclaved 18.2 mega Ω-cm Water to ensure utmost quality.
The buffer is sterile, filtered through 0.2µm membrane.
Each lot of the 50X BFGRB is tested and certified for the absence of RNase/DNase activities.
