DESCRIPTION
Save time and simplify your buffer preparation step by using the ready-made 1X STE buffer solution (Saline-Tris-EDTA Buffer Solution). The STE solution is also known as a TEN (Tris-EDTA-NaCl) buffer.
The STE buffer is used for DNA extraction protocols. It is mainly used in genomic DNA extraction protocols. It is utilized as a lysis buffer for eukaryotic cells and in the alkaline lysis protocol for M13 isolation.
The buffer is used in genomic DNA extraction because it provides the appropriate pH and salt concentration to effectively solubilize and purify DNA from cells. The Tris component helps to maintain a neutral pH, the EDTA chelates divalent cations that can interfere with the extraction process, and the NaCl provides an appropriate salt concentration for the DNA to remain in solution.
The buffer is also used with Qiagen plasmid kits for resuspension and storage of isolated DNA.
The 1X buffer solution contains 10 mM Tris, 100 mM Sodium Chloride (NaCl), and 1mM EDTA (pH 8.0 ± 0.1).
Our buffer is formulated from Highly Pure Molecular-Grade Chemicals in Autoclaved 18.2 mega Ω-cm Water.
The buffer is sterile, filtered through 1 µm membrane and autoclaved.
Our STE buffer is tested and certified for the absence of RNase/DNase protease activities.
