DESCRIPTION

Med Biosciences 1.0 M Lithium Acetate is a ready-to-use sterile stock solution to dilute to any desired lower molar concentration. It is commonly utilized in molecular biology experiments as an osmotic salt to permeabilize the cell wall of yeast for use in DNA transformation.

Our Lithium Acetate solution is prepared from a highly pure molecular biology grade reagent with Autoclaved 18.2 mega Ω-cm DNase/RNase-free Water to ensure utmost quality. The final solution is filtered using a 0.2 µm filter and filled into final sterile bottles.

Lithium Acetate solution is manufactured according to strict quality control standards to ensure lot-to-lot consistency. Our solution is sterile, DNase/RNase free, and protease free.

Each lot of our Molecular Biology Grade Lithium Acetate solution is subjected to rigorous quality control which involves checking for RNase activity, Exonuclease activity, Nonspecific Endonuclease activity, Nonspecific Protease activity, and Sterility.

Available in 2 convenient sizes (125 mL, and 250 mL bottles). Customized solutions are available to meet individual needs.

COMPOSITION:

1.0 M (102.02g/L) solution is formulated from molecular grade Lithium Acetate Dihydrate (Molecular Weight: 102.02, Cas Number: 6108-17-4, highly pure for molecular biology, ≥99.0%) in Autoclaved 18.2 mega Ω-cm DNase/RNase-free Water. Then, the solution is filtered through 0.2 µm filter into final sterile and DNase/RNase free bottles. The solution is not titrated, but the final pH should be between 8.4 and 8.9.

PACKAGING:

Available in 125 mL, and 250 mL bottles.

1.0 M Lithium Acetate solution is packaged in Sterile and RNase/DNase-free thick wall bottles that are made from medical/food-grade PET/PETG plastic materials.
