1X Towbin SDS Buffer – Tris-Glycine-SDS Transfer Buffer (+ 0.05% SDS, + 20% Methanol, Sterile-Filtered, pH 8.3)

DESCRIPTION

1X Towbin Tris-Glycine-SDS (with 0.05% SDS, and 20% Methanol) is the standard transfer buffer for Western blots.

This transfer buffer is optimal for tank (wet) blotting and for some semi-dry apparatuses.

The presence of high concentration of SDS in the Towbin buffer can increase the efficiency of transfer of large proteins.

The presence of SDS increases the ionic strength of the blot buffer which will increase heating during the transfer process; therefore, it is recommended to use ice packs in the transfer tank.

The 1X Towbin SDS buffer is composed of 25 mM Tris-Base, 192 mM glycine, 0.05% SDS and 20% Methanol (pH 8.3 ± 0.1).

Our buffer is formulated from Highly Pure Molecular-Grade Chemicals in Autoclaved 18.2 mega Ω-cm Water.

The buffer is Sterile filtered through 0.22µm membrane.

The buffer is evaluated and certified for being RNase/DNase and Protease-free.

Available in different bottle sizes: 1000 mL, and 1 Gallon (3.78 L).
