20X MES-SDS Running Buffer (pH 7.3) – For Electrophoresis of Bis-Tris Gel

DESCRIPTION

MES-SDS Running Buffer is used to separate low molecular weight proteins and peptides. The buffer stacks and de-stacks low molecular weight peptides and provides higher resolutions of smaller peptide efficiently.

20X MES SDS Running Buffer is formulated for running proteins on home-made or commercially available precast Bis-Tris gels.

It is recommended for separating small- to medium-size proteins. MES has a lower pKa than MOPS, making the MES SDS Running Buffer faster than the MOPS SDS running buffers. The difference in ion migration affects stacking and leads to a difference in protein separation range between these buffers. The use of MOPS buffer allows proteins to run slower than when using MES buffer.

Med Biosciences MES-SDS running buffer provides higher resolution of small size protein bands, faster electrophoresis time, and better detection of lower amounts of protein on Bis-Tris gels than other standard electrophoresis buffers.

The 20X concentrated MES-SDS running buffer is composed of 1 M MES (2-[N-morpholino]ethanesulfonic acid), 1 M Bis-Tris, 20 mM EDTA, 2% SDS, and other ingredients (pH 7.3 ± 0.1).

To use, Dilute 1 volume of the buffer with 19 volumes of deionized molecular grade water. The final concentrations in 1X solution are 50 mM MES, 50 mM Bis-Tris, 1 mM EDTA, 0.1 % SDS, and other ingredients (pH 7.3 ± 0.1). It is recommended to check the pH of the solution after dilution.

Our buffer is formulated from Highly Pure Molecular-Grade Chemicals in Autoclaved 18.2 mega Ω-cm Water.

The buffer is sterile, filtered through 0.22 µm membrane.

MES-SDS buffer is tested and certified for being RNase/DNase and protease free.
