20X SSC Buffer – Saline-Sodium Citrate Hybridization Buffe

DESCRIPTION

The Saline-Sodium Citrate Hybridization Buffer (SSC Buffer) is used to control binding stringency during the washing steps in Southern blotting, in situ hybridization, DNA microarray, and Northern blotting. 20X SSC can also be used to prevent drying of agarose gels during vacuum transfer procedures.

Med Biosciences 20X SSC buffer is prepared from a molecular biology grade Sodium Chloride and Sodium Citrate [highly pure for molecular biology, DNase, RNase, and protease, none detected, ≥99%] in Autoclaved 18.2 mega Ω-cm DNase/RNase-free Water to ensure utmost quality. The final solution is filtered using a 0.2 µm filter into final sterile bottles.

The buffer solution is manufactured according to strict quality control standards to ensure lot-to-lot consistency. Our solution is certified sterile, DNase/RNase free, and protease free.

Each lot of our Molecular Biology Grade 20X SSC Buffer is subjected to rigorous quality control which involves checking for RNase activity, Exonuclease activity, Nonspecific Endonuclease activity, Nonspecific Protease activity, and Sterility.

To prepare 1X SSC working buffer, Dilute the 20X concentrated buffer 20-fold with ultrapure water (18 Mega Ω -cm resistivity at 25 °C).

Available in different convenient sizes (125 mL, 250 mL, 500 mL, and 1L sterile bottles). Customized solutions are available to meet individual needs.

COMPOSITION:

The 20X SSC Buffer is composed of 0.3 M sodium citrate in 3 M NaCl (pH 7.0 ± 0.1) in Autoclaved 18.2 mega Ω-cm DNase/RNase-free Water. The final solution is filtered through 0.2 µm filter into final sterile and DNase/RNase free bottles.

Available in 125 mL, 250 mL, 500 mL, and 1L bottles.

20X SSC Buffer is packaged in Sterile and RNase/DNase-free thick wall bottles that are classified for medical/food usage.

NOTES

If precipitation is present in the 20X concentrated buffer, warm the bottle to 37 OC and mix until completely dissolved prior to dilution. It is recommended to filter 1X working solutions through a 0.2 µm filter before use.
