DESCRIPTION
Church & Gilbert’s Buffer is used in both prehybridization and hybridization with RNA or DNA probs to membrane immobilized RNA in Northern Blot or immobilized DNA in Southern Blot. During the prehybridization process, the buffer will block the nonspecific adherence of probes to membranes and, subsequently, minimizes the nonspecific hybridization and maximizes the specific hybridization to RNAs or DNAs immobilized on membranes. The buffer also minimizes the formation of bubbles (which will hinder binding) that may appear during raising the temperature of the hybridization process.
Med Biosciences 2X concentrated buffer solution is prepared from molecular biology grade EDTA Disodium Salt, BSA (bovine serum albumin Fraction V), NaHPO4 (Monobasic Sodium Phosphate), and SDS (Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate) with Autoclaved 18.2 mega Ω-cm DNase/RNase-free Water to ensure utmost quality. The final solution is filtered using a 0.2 µm filter into final sterile bottles.
The 2X Church & Gilbert’s Hybridization Buffer is manufactured according to strict quality control standards to ensure lot-to-lot consistency. Our solution is certified sterile, DNase/RNase free, and protease free.
Each lot of our Molecular Biology Grade Hybridization Buffer is subjected to rigorous quality control which involves checking for RNase activity, Exonuclease activity, Nonspecific Endonuclease activity, Nonspecific Protease activity, and Sterility.
Available in different convenient sizes (250 mL, 500 mL, and 1 L sterile bottles). Customized solutions are available to meet individual needs.
COMPOSITION:
The 2X Church-Gilbert Hybridization buffer is composed of 1.0 M NaH2PO4, 2 mM Na2EDTA.2H2O, 2% BSA, and 14% SDS (pH 7.2 ± 0.1) in Autoclaved 18.2 mega Ω-cm DNase/RNase-free Water. The final solution is filtered through 0.2 µm filter into final sterile and DNase/RNase free bottles.
