DESCRIPTION

3.0 M Potassium acetate Solution (pH 5.5) is used for precipitating DNA and RNA, and a buffering solution in the pH range of 3.8–5.8.

Med Biosciences 3.0 M Potassium Acetate is a ready-to-use solution for Routine Precipitation of DNA or RNA at Concentrations ≥20 ng/mL.

Our 3 M Potassium Acetate solution is prepared from a molecular biology grade reagent [highly pure for molecular biology, DNase, RNase, and protease, none detected, ≥99%] with Autoclaved 18.2 mega Ω-cm DNase/RNase-free Water to ensure utmost quality. The final solution is filtered using a 0.2 µm filter into final sterile bottles.

The solution is manufactured according to strict quality control standards to ensure lot-to-lot consistency. Our solution is certified sterile, DNase/RNase free, and protease free.

Each lot of our Molecular Biology Grade Potassium Acetate solution is subjected to rigorous quality control which involves checking for RNase activity, Exonuclease activity, Nonspecific Endonuclease activity, Nonspecific Protease activity, and Sterility.

Available in 2 convenient sizes (125 mL, and 250 mL bottles). Customized solutions are available to meet individual needs.

3.0 M (294.42g/L) solution is formulated from a molecular grade Potassium Acetate [Molecular Weight: 98.14, Cas Number: 127-08-2, highly pure for molecular biology, DNase, RNase, and protease, none detected, ≥99%] in Autoclaved 18.2 mega Ω-cm DNase/RNase-free Water, pH 5.5. The solution is filtered through 0.2 µm filter into final sterile and DNase/RNase free bottles.

3.0 M Potassium Acetate solution is packaged in Sterile and RNase/DNase-free thick wall bottles that are classified for medical/food applications.

NOTES

Important: Use of potassium acetate should be avoided for the precipitation of RNA from solutions containing SDS, since the potassium salt of SDS is highly insoluble.

Do not autoclave the solution.
