DESCRIPTION
PEG 8000 (Polyethylene Glycol) is a suitable medium for the fusion of mammalian cells to obtain hybridomas for monoclonal antibody production and known to induce cell hybridization. It is also used to precipitate bacteriophage from lysed cell supernatants, and for making aqueous two-phase partitions for cell fractionation.
Med Biosciences PEG 8000 is suitable for cell fusion and bacteriophage isolation. Our molecular grade PEG 8000 is prepared with Autoclaved 18.2 mega Ω-cm DNase/RNase-free Water to ensure utmost quality. The final solution was autoclaved and filled into sterile DNase/RNase free bottles.
The solution is manufactured according to strict quality control standards to ensure lot-to-lot consistency. Our solution is certified sterile, DNase/RNase free, and protease free.
Each lot of our Molecular Biology Grade PEG 8000 solution is subjected to rigorous quality control which involves checking for RNase activity, Exonuclease activity, Nonspecific Endonuclease activity, Nonspecific Protease activity, and Sterility.
Available in 3 convenient sizes (125 mL, and 250 mL, and 500 mL bottles). Customized solutions are available to meet individual needs.
COMPOSITION:
30% (300 g/L) solution is formulated from a molecular grade PEG 8000 [Molecular Formula: (C2H4O)nH2O, Cas Number: 25322-68-3, highly pure for molecular biology, DNase, RNase, and protease, none detected, ≥99%], and 1.6 M Sodium Chloride (NaCl, extra pure) in Autoclaved 18.2 mega Ω-cm DNase/RNase-free Water. The pH is 6.7 to 7.3. The solution is autoclaved then filled into final sterile and DNase/RNase free bottles.
