DESCRIPTION

Sorbitol (also known as D-Sorbitol, and D-Glucitol) is a monosaccharide (simple sugar) in nature, which is produced in the human body by the reduction of glucose aldehyde group to hydroxyl group.

1M Sorbitol Solution is widely used in biological research. It is commonly used in washing spheroplasts and in isoelectric focusing to minimize internal osmotic flow in agarose gels. Other applications include isolation of sorbitol fermenting bacteria.

2M Sorbitol is used in different applications of yeast research such as cryopreservation of cells before yeast electroporation transformation, preparation, and storage of protoplasts, and to make diploids between non-mating strains.

Med Biosciences 1M and 2M Sorbitol solutions are formulated from an extra pure molecular grade and microbiology grade reagent with Autoclaved 18.2 mega Ω-cm DNase/RNase-free Water to ensure utmost quality. The final solution was filtered through 0.2 µm filter into final sterile DNase/RNase free bottles.

The solutions are manufactured according to strict quality control standards to ensure lot-to-lot consistency. Our solutions are certified sterile, DNase/RNase free, and protease free.

Each lot of our Molecular Biology Grade Sorbitol solution is subjected to rigorous quality control which involves checking for RNase activity, Exonuclease activity, Nonspecific Endonuclease activity, Nonspecific Protease activity, and Sterility.

Available in 2 convenient concentrations (1M and 2M) and 2 convenient sizes (125 mL, and 250 mL sterile bottles). Customized solutions are available to meet individual needs.

COMPOSITION:

1M (182.17 g/L) and 2M (364.34 g/L) solutions are formulated from a molecular grade and microbiology grade extra pure D-Sorbitol [Molecular Formula: C₆H₁₄O₆, Cas Number: 50-70-4, highly pure for molecular biology, DNase, RNase, and protease, none detected, ≥99%] in Autoclaved 18.2 mega Ω-cm DNase/RNase-free Water. The solution is filtered through 0.22 µm filter directly into final sterile and DNase/RNase free bottles.

PACKAGING:

Available in 125 mL, and 250 mL bottles.

1M and 2M Sorbitol solutions are packaged in Sterile and RNase/DNase-free thick wall bottles that are classified for medical/food usage.
